As the first university established in the Spanish speaking world devoted to graduate education in business administration, Universidad ESAN has a long history of hosting most successful national and international conferences.

Latin America has begun to develop strong ties with the Information Systems (IS) community, both academic and corporate, and depends on strengthening them to pursue further economic and social development. Bringing AMCIS to our Continent will not only fullfill expectations traditional attendees´ expectations, but will also offer them a lively vision of the role that Information Technology plays in our societies. It will be an opportunity for faculty and practitioners from this part of the world to participate in this conference, to enrich their expertise in Information Systems and to network with their peers from the U.S., Canada and other countries. Still more important is to continue the first approach between practitioners and students from North America and Latin America made during AMCIS 2006 in Acapulco.

The opportunity to bring AMCIS to Peru will be enhanced by the participation of universities and practitioners not only from ESAN but from the most prestigious Peruvian universities that will join Universidad ESAN in this effort.
