Business intelligence strategy

What's common between Harrah's, Continental, Li & Fung, and Capital One? These organizations have transformed themselves to claim a sustainable competitive advantage by managing their information resources strategically, especially via exemplary use of Business Intelligence (BI). Creating a sustainable competitive advantage is a major goal for forward-looking organizations. This course is about understanding how organizations make strategic use of BI to achieve this goal BI from a managerial viewpoint.

  • Schedule 2:
    Mon 14:30 to 18:10 (Break 16:10-20 min.), Tue-Thu 14:00 a 17:40 (Break 15:40 - 20 min.) and Fri 10:30 to 12:10 hrs.

Professor

Uday Kulkarni, PhD

PhD in MIS from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He has over 30 years of teaching and industry experience in database management, business intelligence, and knowledge management. He has led graduate academic programs as faculty director. He is actively involved in research programs with industry partners and has over fifty publications. He has won many teaching awards in the W.P. Carey School at Arizona State University including the coveted Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award in1996. He was nominated for the W.P. Carey Graduate Teaching Award in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
